      Toledo, Ohio - September 6th, 2010- Chapman Slams, Davis loses her slam bid
      
      Chapman has been in this position before, but since 2004's 4-wall nationals, Chapman has not won a national singles title and it has appeared that age (35), Paul Brady, Emmett Peixoto and a few rising stars were the only thing holding him back from winning another.
      
      On Monday, September 6th, and in front of a packed Toledo, Ohio, crowd, Chapman proved to the world of handball nuts that age and experience, plus a lot of time on the court, can equal greatness; winning his third 3-wall national singles title and the first since 1995. This 15 year drought may be the longest span in USHA pro nationals history (I smell a trivia question here)?? Regardless, it's a testament to age, skill and a lot of mental fortitude.

    • Handball Organizations Unite for the 2011 Collegiate Championships at ASU

      TUCSON – It’s Official! The 59th Annual USHA Collegiate Handball Championships hosted by the WPH will be held at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ., February 23-27, 2011.
      
      The United States Handball Association (USHA) and the World Players of Handball (WPH) have agreed to showcase the best collegiate handball event to date.
      
      "I'm delighted that we're going to have a single championship. We missed the competition last year,” says Lake Forest Handball Coach Mike Dau.
      
      Entry form, hotel and other arrangements are in the works and will be finalized in the upcoming weeks.
      
      The USHA (the governing body of handball) will supply the official balls (Red and White ACE) and provide stipends to help teams and coaches attend the event; meanwhile, the WPH will host, run the tournament and manage administrative and facility costs. Co-Tournament Directors, Matthew Krueger and Steve Soto, are ready for the 2010 spectacle.
      
      “What a great day,” proclaimed Missouri State Handball Coach Tommy Burnett. “I predict that the 2011 tournament will be one of the most exciting collegiate events ever.”
      
      The handball facility, tournament banquet, host hotel, and hospitality will all be within walking distance on the ASU campus.

Nestled at 7,200 feet above sea level (making this state capital the highest in North America), Santa Fe is situated between the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (12,000 ft summit) and the mighty Rio Grande (Rio Bravo Del Norte).
      
      Santa Fe, New Mexico, is located 60 miles north of Albuquerque, NM.
